Rules & Policies
By booking with Threshold HQ, the renter agrees to comply with all rules and policies, and agrees to make our policies known to, and assume all responsibility for, any parties that may accompany them.
All attendees are subject to all applicable laws of our jurisdiction, including the town, county, state, and federal government.
Our rules and policies are made available in print on premises, by way of QR codes around the facility, and via our website.
Booking and Availability
Our space is available by appointment only. We allow for bookings 24 hours a day. Bookings can be placed on our website at thresholdhq.com
The renter must be 18 years or older. This is an all ages facility, however, minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Under extreme circumstances, we reserve the right to refuse or reschedule bookings.
Accessibility
The space is on the ground floor and is handicap accessible.
Attendees may park in the parking lot immediately outside the building or on the adjacent street.
Entry to the room can be accessed through the main door of Long Island Sound Studios. You will be granted a unique pin code to access the room for the duration of your reservation. A physical key will be made available to you in the event of a pin pad malfunction.
Safety and Security
For safety reasons, no renter is permitted to enter the facility without first being admitted by a Threshold HQ staff member. Violators will be fined and banned, and may be subject to legal action.
The hallway and remainder of building for through traffic only. For safety and consideration for our neighbors, there is to be no loitering in these spaces.
Our garage door is available for load-in and load-out, and as an exit in case of emergency. Do not obstruct access the garage door.
Live security cameras are in use. They are located in the main room, the hallway of the building, and outside the facility. There are no cameras used inside the restroom.
Fire extinguishers are on premises and clearly marked.
Sound and Noise
Noise and loud music is permitted.
Our space is not sound proof. Though we do our best to dampen the noise, we do share a space with a rehearsal studio. With enough notice, we can ask our neighbors in the studio to reschedule. We cannot control noise from outside of our facility.
Photosensitivity Warning
Our facility features lighting that can produce a wide array of visual effects that may be triggering to those with photosensitivity issues and can cause seizures in these individuals. Use caution and make sure that members of your party are informed and prepared for the use of these effects.
Cleanliness
The renter agrees that the space will be left clean for the next renter, which includes removing trash and returning equipment to its original state and location. A cleaning fee of $150 will be billed to the renter if the space is not left as it was found.
Each reservation accounts for up to 15 people. We require one of our attendants to remain on-site for any parties greater than 15 people. A cleaning fee and an hourly attendant fee will also be applied.
The use of glitter, confetti, sand, or any uncontained granular will incur a cleaning fee.
Anything that produces residue (e.g. smokeless smoke bombs) will incur a cleaning fee.
Paint, fake blood, and similar common materials are permitted when properly contained and handled. A cleaning fee will be applied to any party that leaves excessive stains or visible remnants.
Damages and Theft
The renter agrees to use Threshold HQ’s space and equipment reasonably and responsibly, and return everything in the condition it was found. The renter is liable for damages that cannot be attributed to natural wear and tear, or that are the direct result of ignoring instructions from Threshold HQ.
Any equipment that leaves the facility without prior approval is considered stolen and will be pursued to the fullest extent of the law.
Cyclorama Policy
The cyclorama is for aesthetic purposes and is not built to support weight.
Do not step on the curve of the cyc wall. You will be fined, immediately ejected with no refund, billed for damages, and banned from our facility.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
While we do not offer refunds, we will allow you to reschedule a cancelled reservation within 30 days after cancellation. We will honor your original payment and allow you to reschedule a total of two (2) times within that 30 day window at no additional cost. After that, you will be required to place a new reservation.
We consider an absentee or no-show to be someone who does not arrive within an hour of the start of their reserved time without notice. An absentee or no-show will not receive a refund or be permitted to reschedule the appointment without paying for a new reservation.
Load-in and Load-Out
Set-up and breakdown are part of your booked time. Your party will not be allowed inside before the start time, and is expected to be out of the room by the end time. Please book accordingly to prevent overtime fees.
Depending on the schedule, arrangements for overnight storage may be possible for a fee. Inquire with management.
Lost and Abandoned Property
We are not responsible for any property that you leave at our space. Any property not claimed within 72 hours or the end of your session is considered abandoned. Abandoned property may be destroyed, discarded, sold, donated, or otherwise disposed of.
If you find you’ve left or lost property at our facility, do not return unannounced; you will not be able to enter. Instead, please contact us as soon as possible, no later than 72 hours from the end of your session, and we will attempt to locate it for you. If we find it, we will arrange a time for you to retrieve it. If you would like to come look for it yourself, we will coordinate a time for one person to come to the facility to look. If any found items need to be shipped, the renter or the inquiring party is responsible for all associated costs and will be charged a $25 convenience fee. If arrangements cannot be made within a reasonable timeframe, the property will be considered abandoned.
Sets and Installations
Mounting and hanging objects on walls must approved by management and is subject to repair costs.
Set construction must be approved by management when reserving your space and must take place during your appointment time. For this, we recommend considering a multiple day booking for larger projects. Any sets are to be deconstructed and properly disposed of before the renter leaves the facility.
Any construction left behind will be destroyed and discarded, and the renter will be charged for the cost of disposal and labor.
What Is and Isn't Permitted
Smoke machines are permitted.
Outside food and catering is permitted.
Moving furniture is permitted, unless otherwise noted.
Service animals are always permitted. Other animals may be permitted, subject to prior approval from management.
Adult nudity is permitted. Sexual activity is prohibited.
Smoking is not permitted inside the building.
No guns, weapons, explosives, pyrotechnics, or open flames of any kind are permitted in the building. Failure to comply will result in a $500 penalty with no refund and an immediate, permanent ban from our facility.
